Meet Ashlyn - Wynfield at Annville's Newe Event Coordinator

That's why we're excited to announce the addition of our new Event Planner, Ashlyn, who will be focused on creating fun, engaging, and meaningful experiences for residents throughout the year. Whether you're looking to meet new friends, explore new hobbies, or simply enjoy a full social calendar, exciting opportunities are on the way. 

Get to know Ashlyn a little better and learn more about the events, activities, and experiences she's planning to bring to our vibrant 55+ community!

1.    Tell us a little about yourself and what drew you to the Activities Coordinator role at Wynfield.

I’ve always loved planning events and creating experiences that bring people together. Before joining Wynfield, I spent a lot of time teaching art classes and planning programs for older adults. I found so much fulfillment in watching people connect over trying something new together!

I love the creative challenges that this role brings! Whether it’s floral arranging, transforming a room into an experience, making decorations, coordinating with entertainment and food vendors to add to a cohesive curated experience, styling food and beverage displays, creating interactive moments, and adding personal touches. 

When I learned about the opportunity at Wynfield, it felt like the perfect fit because I get to combine my creativity with my passion for building community!

2.    What excites you most about helping shape the lifestyle and community experience at Wynfield?

I’m most excited to become more and more integrated with the Wynfield community! I’m eager to bring the resident’s event wishes to life and give the community time to focus on coming together, having fun, laughing, exploring interests, and finding new favorites! I’m especially excited to incorporate local Annville small businesses, to help residents get more connected to their community. 

3. What kinds of events or activities are you hoping to bring to residents?

I want to bring a little bit of everything! You’ll see fun themed parties, live entertainment, creative workshops, games, fitness and wellness activities, seasonal celebrations, and some unique events that people might not expect! I’m planning my events based on what Wynfield residents already enjoy and what they would like to try. Plus, some of my own unique ideas!

4. How do you plan to get residents involved and make sure there’s something for everyone?

I’m very big on “I want to hear from you”. I want residents to tell me what they enjoy, what they’d like to see more of, and ideas they’ve always wanted to try. In June we had an event where residents did just that. Everyone voted on their favorite event concepts, and I’ll be implementing that feedback to make sure everyone has an event, club, or class they’re excited to get involved in. 

As we saw at our June event, everyone has different interests! My goal is to offer a variety of activities where everyone can find something they enjoy. I’ll also encourage people to step outside their comfort zone every once in a while. You never know what you might like!

5. Looking ahead, what is your vision for life at Wynfield over the next year?

I hope Wynfield becomes a place where residents feel connected to their community, excited to be involved, and always  have something fun they’re looking forward to. I’d love for residents to look at the monthly calendar and think, “I can’t wait for that!” My goal is to create a community that’s active, welcoming, and full of opportunities to make great connections and memories.

6. Anything you’d like to say to current and future Wynfield residents?

I’m so happy to be here! I’ve enjoyed connecting with everyone I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so far, and I look forward to getting to know any one I have met yet. If you ever have something you’d love to see on the calendar, please let me know. I’m always open to suggestions, and I’m looking forward to making this a fun and exciting place for everyone!
