The Hummelstown Lower-Level Renovation transformed a previously unfinished basement into a fully functional and thoughtfully designed extension of the home. Recently completed in February of 2026, the renovation was driven by the homeowners' desire to gain additional living space that could support entertaining, wellness, and everyday use. The new lower level now features a comfortable living area, home gym, full bathroom, and a unique bar area designed to be the heart of the space.

Design inspiration blended a classic English pub aesthetic in the bar area with a more modern approach throughout the main living space. Thoughtful custom details elevate the space, including a recessed linear electric fireplace, exposed beams, and crown moulding. The bar stands out with custom trim detailing, a mirrored backdrop, stone accent walls at the entry, and custom bar taps. One of the project’s biggest challenges was navigating multiple structural columns while preserving ceiling height, which required careful planning and creative integration. The result is a cohesive, inviting lower level where the homeowners can enjoy time with friends and family for years to come.
