Mark Cloyd is the Senior Director of Business Development at Garman Builders where he leads land acquisition, strategic partnerships, and growth initiatives supporting the company’s long-term expansion strategy.
He brings more than a decade of senior leadership experience across real estate, business development, and strategic planning, with a strong track record of identifying new markets, structuring complex opportunities, and aligning capital with execution.
Mark is a trusted strategic partner to landowners, investors, and institutional counterparts, recognized for his disciplined approach to growth and his ability to advance opportunities from concept to execution.
ANDY THOMPSON
Andy Thompson is the Land Acquisition Manager at Garman Builders and is a seasoned Land Acquisition Professional with over three decades of experience spanning land acquisition, land development, real estate development, and municipal government.
Throughout his career, Andy has successfully navigated complex entitlement processes, negotiated strategic land transactions, and led multidisciplinary teams to bring high-quality residential communities from concept to completion. His comprehensive understanding of both public and private sector dynamics allows him to bridge regulatory requirements with development objectives, creating value-driven and community-focused outcomes.
Andy’s depth of experience and long-standing industry relationships make him a trusted leader in identifying opportunities, managing risk, and delivering successful land development projects.

Fernecrest – A Community of Messiah Lifeways
Messiah Lifeways is developing Fernecrest as a thoughtfully designed community for adults 62+ that will provide residents with an active, maintenance-free lifestyle in a welcoming and connected environment.
Benchmark Construction, who is overseeing the site development and construction of the apartment component, sought a residential builder capable of delivering cottage homes that align with the community’s vision, architectural character, and long-term goals.
The Garman Approach
Garman Builders is partnering with Benchmark Construction and Messiah Lifeways to bring the cottage home component of Fernecrest to life through thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and a focus on livability for today’s active adult homeowner.
The homes are being carefully designed to support low-maintenance living while emphasizing comfort, accessibility, and community connection. Through close collaboration with the broader project team, Garman is helping create a residential environment that complements the mission of Messiah Lifeways and enhances the overall resident experience.
